Any Reason To Celebrate

I love celebrating...anything. Why not? It can make an ordinary day extra fun, just by "celebrating", and turning it into a special occasion. The first thing we celebrated this week was Ground Hog Day. I know, most people don't know when it occurs, but I guarantee you ask any kindergarten teacher what happens on February 2 and they are sure to know. Anyhow, we have an elderly neighbor who's wife passed away a few years ago, and we have since adopted him. So for Ground Hog Day, the girls made him some cupcakes with little "ground hogs" popping out of them. I know we brightened his day by delivering him some of our homemade treasures.

The second thing we celebrated was Chinese New Year. While we are by no means Chinese, again, another reason to celebrate. Jinglebell was learning about the holiday at school, so we decided to make some Chinese food and practice our chopstick skills. Thus, we love the invention of the fork.

The Things I LOVE...

In an attempt to get back into blogging, I am going to attempt to have a "theme" for the month of February. It is going to be The Things I Love... and of course one of my favorites is my sweet baby girl. I love her innocence in the fact that her sisters dressed her up and are cracking up laughing at her, and she is as sweet as can be. I love her age right now and the fact that she is so easy to snuggle and loves to be snuggled. I love that she gives kisses to us and is quick to offer a kiss when she sees her sister is sad. I love that she races to the door to greet her daddy when he comes home. I love that she climbs to the top of the table, and then tells herself to "get down?" 100 times in a row. I love her with every ounce of my being and I love that God chose me to be her mommy.

A Glimpse Into Our Future

As the girls were putting on play make up, and looking unbelievably beautiful, Daddy said, "I better get my shot gun ready for those boyfriends." Beera said, "I wonder if I'll be able to find a boyfriend." And I asked, "Where would you find one?" She responded matter of factly: "In the forest".

A few days later, Beera declared she did not ever want a boyfriend. When I asked her why, she said, "Because they might come to our house and eat all of our food." True.

Picking Up Where I Left Off

Okay, so again, it's been a while. Can I please just pick up where I left off and pretend that I haven't been gone long. Thanks.
The purpose of my blog is really not for the audience (what audience???), but rather to record our family events. Before I can do that, I have to say how unbelievably thankful I am for my wonderful husband. He works SO hard every day, just so that I can stay home and be with our kids. He doesn't get to spend his day getting hugs and kisses from our three little girls, or walking them to school, or singing and dancing with our girlies. But it has always been a priority to him that I get to do those things, and for that, I will be forever thankful to him. He works hard, so that we can play hard. Thanks Babe, you're a keeper. Oh, and the fact that you are oh so hot, is such a bonus.

Home Schooling

Just about every day we do "school". It must be the teacher in me, but the kids request it every day, year round. This particular day we finger painted our sight words (both girls have their own list). Then finger and toe painted wrapping paper. The girls love getting creative, mixing colors and feeling paint squish between their toes. Even Crocodila got in on the action with her first attempt at coloring. But she decided that chewing on the crayons was more fun. I love that I still get to teach my kids something, far more than just learning to read and write. I love my "job". I love my life. This really has to be as good as it gets.

Proud to be an American!

As always, we went to Tahoe for the Fourth of July. The girls had fun playing at the beach, participating in the bike parade, and spending time with family. It was a great weekend and I am proud to be an American!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

A good half hour after being tucked in to bed, Beera comes out with tears streaming down her face. This is what our conversation looked like:
Me: Baby what's wrong?
Beera: I can't tell you, you'll laugh at me.
Me: No I won't, I promise. You can tell me anything.
Beera: (wrapping her arms tightly around me and now sobbing) I'm going to miss you when I marry a boyfriend.
Me: You don't have to move out, you and your husband can live here. You will always have a room and a bed in our house.
Beera: (starting to look more content) But what if I get really tall?
Me: Then we'll buy you a bigger bed.
Beera: But that would be a waste of money.... Do grownups sleep in bunk beds?
Me: I don't see why not.
Beera: (now perfectly happy) Then that is what we'll do. I'll sleep on the bottom bunk, and the boyfriend I marry will sleep on the top.
Me: Sounds like a plan.

Now all is good in her world.
