A Glimpse Into Our Future

As the girls were putting on play make up, and looking unbelievably beautiful, Daddy said, "I better get my shot gun ready for those boyfriends." Beera said, "I wonder if I'll be able to find a boyfriend." And I asked, "Where would you find one?" She responded matter of factly: "In the forest".

A few days later, Beera declared she did not ever want a boyfriend. When I asked her why, she said, "Because they might come to our house and eat all of our food." True.

Picking Up Where I Left Off

Okay, so again, it's been a while. Can I please just pick up where I left off and pretend that I haven't been gone long. Thanks.
The purpose of my blog is really not for the audience (what audience???), but rather to record our family events. Before I can do that, I have to say how unbelievably thankful I am for my wonderful husband. He works SO hard every day, just so that I can stay home and be with our kids. He doesn't get to spend his day getting hugs and kisses from our three little girls, or walking them to school, or singing and dancing with our girlies. But it has always been a priority to him that I get to do those things, and for that, I will be forever thankful to him. He works hard, so that we can play hard. Thanks Babe, you're a keeper. Oh, and the fact that you are oh so hot, is such a bonus.

Home Schooling

Just about every day we do "school". It must be the teacher in me, but the kids request it every day, year round. This particular day we finger painted our sight words (both girls have their own list). Then finger and toe painted wrapping paper. The girls love getting creative, mixing colors and feeling paint squish between their toes. Even Crocodila got in on the action with her first attempt at coloring. But she decided that chewing on the crayons was more fun. I love that I still get to teach my kids something, far more than just learning to read and write. I love my "job". I love my life. This really has to be as good as it gets.

Proud to be an American!

As always, we went to Tahoe for the Fourth of July. The girls had fun playing at the beach, participating in the bike parade, and spending time with family. It was a great weekend and I am proud to be an American!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

A good half hour after being tucked in to bed, Beera comes out with tears streaming down her face. This is what our conversation looked like:
Me: Baby what's wrong?
Beera: I can't tell you, you'll laugh at me.
Me: No I won't, I promise. You can tell me anything.
Beera: (wrapping her arms tightly around me and now sobbing) I'm going to miss you when I marry a boyfriend.
Me: You don't have to move out, you and your husband can live here. You will always have a room and a bed in our house.
Beera: (starting to look more content) But what if I get really tall?
Me: Then we'll buy you a bigger bed.
Beera: But that would be a waste of money.... Do grownups sleep in bunk beds?
Me: I don't see why not.
Beera: (now perfectly happy) Then that is what we'll do. I'll sleep on the bottom bunk, and the boyfriend I marry will sleep on the top.
Me: Sounds like a plan.

Now all is good in her world.

Vacation

Recently our family went on a trip to Marine World (or Discover Kingdom as it is now called). We stayed the night in a hotel and then went to the Jelly Belly Factory the next day. It was a lot of fun!

Happy Father's Day

This weekend we celebrated father's day with my two favorite dads. My own dad, and the father of my children. We started the day snuggled in our bed with our family daddy, and ended the day with a family BBQ with my dad. Another Father's Day tradition in our house is our annual ice cream voting contest. I cover the labels of several flavors of ice cream and number them. Then we vote on a piece of paper for them, and then reveal the flavors after voting. It's always a big hit and something we all look forward to each year.

If I had to use one word to describe my dad, it would be integrity. He is a man that always does what is right. I look up to my dad and he has always been a hero in my life. He means the world to me, and I have learned so much about parenting from him. I could not ask for a better father and I will always be his Tweedles. It has been a true joy to watch him be the most amazing Grandpa to my girls. Love you, Dad!

The other amazing dad in my life is my husband. He is the best dad my three girls could ask for. He works hard for us and he plays hard with us. On any given day you can find him mowing the lawn, attending a tea party and reading the bible to his girls. He is the best daddy and I know all three of our girls are "Daddy's Girls". I'm proud to have him as my partner in this thing called parenting. Love you, babe!

I'm BAAAACK!

Okay, so I'm back and I'm going to do my best to be a regular blogger. Life with three kids, what more can I say???

I see I have a second follower... oh the pressure.

A lot has happened over the last few months. It will probably take me the next few months to get you up to speed with the events in our lives. We are a busy, thriving family of five that I will attempt to reveal to you. You. Who is you? Let' be real. I'm really only hoping that I will get this blog thing down and then once I'm good and a regular, I might actually tell people I have a blog:)

Updates:
1. As you can see, I have been playing around with the layout and design of this blog. I like the new look. It's not finished, but I decided I better give it some content before I worry about how it looks.
2. As for becoming a jogger... oh, uh runner: Well I have been semi successful with that. It comes and goes in spurts, mostly depending on how busy my family is, as my running tends to take a back seat to soccer practice, making dinner, pretty much anything. I'm a work in progress.
That's if for housekeeping, now let's get down to the nitty gritty (I always despised that expression).

A Skating We Will Go

With the rain upon us, we are trying to find fun things to do to get our wiggles out. We like spending time at the skating rink. On this particular day, the power actually went out in the skating rink. A large room with no windows means that it was pitch black. Surprisingly, the kids did not panic, but rather the moms began frantically feeling faces to find their children, as it was pitch black. It was a good day.

Where's Waldo?

Our little Crocodila is growing right before our very eyes. She is the big girls favorite toy, sometimes getting mixed in with the other toys. She smiles ALL the time. Sometimes I think it must hurt for her to laugh so much and smile so often. She likes to talk in the early hours of the morning when the rest of the house is quiet (and trying to still sleep). This is her favorite time of day and she can be found making all sorts of fun noises. She is a true joy!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It's a New Year

Okay, so Happy New Year to all! Okay, who am I kidding: no one (thankfully, the pressure would be immense) actually reads this. So it is a new year and a new me. A lot has changed since my last post. First, I am now the mother of three girly girls. Our sweet baby girl is three months old. And being the mom of three small children, I am extrememly busy and LOVING it. I was born to be a mommy. Secondly, I am officially a jogger. In a soft sense of the word. I have taken up jogging in my spare time (what's that?). It is good "me time" that I value. My goal: 30 minutes three times a week. There, I said it. Now that it is in print for all to see, I have to stick with it. Thirdly, I now have a school age child. Jinglebell started kindergarten and is loving it, but boy does it make me feel old. Beara is doing a homeschool version of preschool with a few of our friends. She loves it. And sweet baby Crocodila is our tag a long baby, just goin' with the flo. Life is good. God is good.
